Steelco Gujarat Limited (“SGL” or “Company”) is a Public Limited Company listed with BSE was incorporated on January 9, 1989 with the Registrar of Companies, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. SGL specializes in manufacturing GP/GC Coils & Sheets, CR Coils & Sheets, and Colour Coated Coils & Sheets. The factory and Registered office is located at Plot No.2, G.I.D.C. Estate, Palej – 392 220, Bharuch, Gujarat.
The company began its commercial production of Cold Rolled Steel products in FY 1994, with an initial capacity of 180,000 MT per annum of Cold Rolled full hard (CRFH). Over time, it expanded through forward integration, adding a Continuous Hot Dip Galvanizing Line and a Hot Dip Continuous Galvanizing Line, each with a 60,000 MT p.a. capacity, followed by a Colour Coating Line of the same capacity. Due to recession in the Steel industry, the Company faced acute financial crisis which led to default in repayment of loan to financial institutions. The deteriorating circumstances resulted into closure of the Company in the year 2019. The Company was finally taken to NCLT Court, Ahmedabad by one of the lenders, SBI. The application for Insolvency proceedings was accepted by the Court on 30.12.2020. After reviewing the applications from all the bidders, NCLT Court accepted the Resolution Plan given by Next Orbit Growth Fund III, Mumbai and passed the Order on 31.07.2023.
Presently the Company is operating under the leadership of new management supported by qualified professionals from the relevant field.
